The Fricchione's Wedding at Stage AE
We’ve been involved with weddings before and it’s a huge honor each and every time that level of trust is given to us to assist in bringing one of the biggest days of their lives to life, but it’s certainly not everyday we get to play a role in a Rock ‘N’ Roll themed wedding. Sarah Marshalek and Anthony Fricchione held their wedding reception at Pittsburgh’s premier music venue on the North Shore, Stage AE; a place where their favorite bands have taken the stage and injected their energy and essence into its atmosphere, and a space where they have spent countless hours growing together, experiencing all of the music they love, live, as a couple.
When Sarah and Anthony showed us their engagement photos by Requiem Images, we immediately knew it was time to put away the traditional mindset of bright white and fall colors for their mid-October wedding date. Their wedding called for more of a black leather biker jacket, silver metal studs and a raven on a rosebush type of mentality. We’re sure you agree that’s exactly what was required.
As they often do, the inside of the concert venue had quite a few large ads from various sponsors. That certainly works fine for the concert atmosphere, but tends to be rather undesirable for a wedding. Our first task was figuring out how to cover the ads while complimenting the theme and layout organization of the reception. With how unique and beautifully shot their engagement photos were, plus the added benefit of some of the ads having light sources, the solution felt like a no-brainer; Back-lit Posters utilizing the great shots from their engagement photo shoot. Sarah and Anthony were literally all over the place and prominently displayed just like the posters of their favorite bands hanging on the walls of their rooms growing up.
Next, we were tasked with producing signage that would make every guest station at this very actively open-bar wedding, as obvious, inviting and self-explanatory as possible. With thirsty wedding guests building up a particular appetite which can only be satiated by a specific kind of nourishment, such as donuts, cake and the ever-legendary Pittsburgh Cookie Table, we felt the best strategy was to go simple, but make it stand out. High-contrast Foam Signs and Foam Posters got the job done quite nicely.
Lastly, even when the night is long since over, it’s never truly over until the official “Thank You’s” have gone out. Sarah and Anthony worked with us on creating custom Thank You Cards to express their gratitude to all of their friends and family for joining them on their special day and send them off with one last memory of the night.
